CO-DESIGNED WITH SAILING CLUBS

It will have taken 18 months to develop this overknee wetsuit. We have designed it for sailing clubs, taking into account the constraints linked to intense use. The French Sailing Federation (FFV) and three partner clubs contributed their expertise in order to design a product suitable for everyone, from beginners to advanced sailors.

REINFORCED KNEES, SEAT AND HAMSTRINGS.

The wetsuit has reinforced knees, shins, seat and hamstrings. The anti-abrasion fabric works in two ways:
– limiting wear and tear of the neoprene on the areas most exposed to contact with the boat
– limiting discomfort and irritation caused by the inevitable friction and chafing caused when sailing.

MULTI-SPORTS

The wetsuit was designed with the restrictions of leisurely sailing in mind. Our design choices make it suitable for other sports such as SUP (Stand-Up Paddleboarding), windsurfing, sea wading or even canoeing/kayaking.

Choose the right size

To make the most of the features of your wetsuit, it is necessary to choose the correct size. A sailing wetsuit should be a very tight fit and there should be no visible folds. If you choose a wetsuit that is too big, folds will appear, you will experience irritation and thermal comfort will be reduced (letting in water).
Identifying sizes has been made easy for clubs, thanks to the colour code for each size.

Thermal insulation

By trapping a thin layer of water around the body, a neoprene wetsuit works in two ways:
1. the water trapped inside the wetsuit gradually warms up
2. heat transfer from the body decreases.
The wetsuit and the thin covering of water form a layer of insulation.

Neoprene is a closed-cell elastomeric foam with trapped nitrogen bubbles that have insulating properties.

MINIMAL WASTE DESIGN

“Minimal Waste” consists of thinking about the design of a product and its different cuts in so that the pattern cutting pieces, once placed on the material to cut, fit together like a puzzle, which thus reduces scraps and material consumption. It’s like a jigsaw! We are proud to be able to now offer you our product that uses this method, which saves 3% of material consumption and reduces scraps by 11%.
